About Me

I'm a visual artist working in watercolor and acrylic, exploring near-monochromatic palettes anchored by a single warm accent, organic forms in tension with geometric structure, and recurring motifs of voids and openings. Deaf in a hearing family, I discovered art around the age of three or four as the best way to communicate with my grandparents. It became, for me, a form of communication anyone in the world can understand, regardless of language barriers. I presently live and work in the Washington, D.C. area.

Art is one part of a fuller life. I stay active through walking, hiking, and weightlifting, and I make things with my hands through model railroads, woodworking, and stained glass. Life has thrown its own challenges into that mix too, including surviving cancer twice, and those are part of my story as well.
