  Lace and Ember

  I turned this bowl on the lathe, then drilled a pattern of holes into the upper section once the shape was done, giving it that lace-like openwork. Near the bottom, I added a band of flakes running around the bowl, catching warm ember tones in the wood grain.

  The Patch Lamp Stand

  I turned this stand on the lathe for a stained glass lamp I have coming, still in the works. Partway through, I accidentally cut a piece off the bottom of the shaft. To fix it, I glued in a piece of a different wood. It ended up adding a nice bit of color contrast I hadn't planned on. I kept shaping...
