Why are we still wearing suits and ties? There's no real reason for it anymore. They're uncomfortable, impractical, and outdated, kind of like the clothes and wigs people wore in the 1700s. The whole concept is absurd. What purpose does a suit actually serve besides creating some illusion of professionalism? Wearing one doesn't make anyone more capable or more respectable.
The world would be better off if we just dropped them. Businesspeople and government officials would do just as well in a good "#OptOutside" t-shirt. Suits mostly just reinforce a false sense of superiority, and everyone looks a little ridiculous wearing them. Let's stop pretending they mean something.
I'll make one exception. Truly important occasions, like the time I wanted to dress up with my beloved Miss Muffin the Cat for a wonderfully over the top photo. Now that's a suit worth wearing.
This picture was taken back in January 2017. That's probably the last time I'll wear one, unless it's for something fun like that again.
